We're making a significant change to how accounts work on MemOrLearn, and we wanted to explain it clearly ahead of time — both what's changing and why, and what to expect in terms of timing.
This new structure is currently under development and is expected to go live by 10th October 2026. Until then, existing accounts will continue to work exactly as they do today.
What's Changing
Up to now, MemOrLearn has had separate Teacher and Student accounts, set up independently of one another. We're replacing this with a simpler, more family-oriented structure built around a single Parent account.
Here's how it will work once the change is live:
- You create a Parent account first — this is the only entry point into MemOrLearn going forward.
- After setting up (or choosing a free) Parent subscription, you'll select a plan and enter payment details once, which then apply across every child account you create underneath it.
- From within your Parent account, you create one or more Child accounts for your children.
- Every Child account is managed entirely from your Parent dashboard — you can update a child's profile, pause an individual child's plan, pause the account temporarily, or delete it altogether, all without needing to log in as the child.
Standalone Student accounts are being retired entirely. Going forward, a Child account can only exist as part of a Parent account — there's no way to create one independently. This mirrors how most families actually use MemOrLearn already, and it gives parents a single place to see and manage everything, rather than juggling separate logins for each child.
The New Pricing Structure
Pricing is also being restructured to reflect this Parent-first model. There will be two separate subscription layers: a Parent plan, and a Child plan applied per child.

Multi-Child Discount
If you're managing more than one Child account, a tiered discount is applied automatically to every child on your plan:

For larger families in particular, this means the cost per child drops meaningfully as more children join, rather than each additional child costing the same as the first.
Why We're Making This Change
Feedback from parents made it clear that managing separate logins for each child, and a Teacher account that didn't quite match how most families were actually using MemOrLearn, added friction that wasn't necessary. A single Parent account that oversees everything — billing, plan management, and each child's profile — reflects how the platform is genuinely being used, by parents managing their own children's learning day to day.
The tiered multi-child discount is also a direct response to the reality that many home educating families have more than one child learning at once, and a flat per-child price doesn't reflect that well.
What to Expect Between Now and Launch
This is still under active development, and details may be refined before the 10th October 2026 target. We'll share a further update with clear guidance on how existing Teacher and Student accounts will transition across once the new structure is ready to go live, so no one needs to take any action before then.
